Dear Leo, dear friends,

As World March of Women we have used the little money we have for a solidarity fund to enable women from eastern Europe and the balkan countries to come to our action and the ESF. As women in general have even less money at their disposal than men, we do hope that a good part of the ESF solidarity fund will also be used to bring more women from these countries to the ESF.

Since months they knew that hundreds of people were waiting for a reply for a minumum guarantee from the Solidarity Fund under their administration for comrades who are disposed to drive by cars 5000km from the Baltic countries, hire cheap buses or hitch hike to take a Ferry to cross the Black Sea.

After having issued an Emergency Call some days ago and after having postponed a definite reply on our humble requests I get this mail (see below) 8 days before the beginning of the European Social Forum.

This means that we still need about 5000.- Euros which are "in the air". Please tell us how much everybody could contribute directly to me since the usual mecanisms of the Solidarity Fund seem to be "out of order".

Dear Leo and Mobilization Comittee,
Reply to the phone call...
We discussed yesterday in the TOC the issue about Solidarity Fund.
Every day new expenses are arising and we are trying to see the total budget to make a plan.
Given that now there is 7,000€'s cash in the Fund, this solves a great part of the problem and gives us a few days to see the big picture and to decide.
As you know, we are keen to provide solidarity funding for CEE participants. Rather than just giving empty promises, we really would like to guarantee one part of the funding.
