Italian metalworkers (FIOM) and public service unions (FP-CGIL) plan joint
strike on 13 February

 

The CGIL metalworking  federation (FIOM CGIL) and FP public service (FP
CGIL) are coming together in protest at a range of government policies
attacking public sector workers, public services and undermining progress
towards equality, not just between men and women workers but also between
domestic and migrant workers. The Berlusconi government policies are
weakening workers' rights in both public and private sectors.

 

On Friday 13th February, three separate marches starting out from different
parts of Rome will all congregate in the Piazza San Giovanni.  

 

The federations have set up a website together that is part of their
organising campaign to build for a national strike in their sectors on 13
February
