PRESS RELEASE
End of this week a conference entitled "Against the neoliberal policy, the first revolution of the 21st century" will be organized by the Hungarian-Venezuelan Solidarity Association in Budapest with the participation of famous Hungarian and Venezuelan speakers.
The organizers are on the opinion that by now capitalism has come to a tremendous overall crisis which manifest itself in social and ecological destruction, as well as in serial financial bankruptcies and in excessive poverty of billions of people all over the world. By today the subordination of labour to capital has become general and market relations penetrated in all spheres of life, previously prosperous communities has been disintegrated, individualism is globally feasting. The functioning of the present, only formal democracy and its institutions has ended in failure, majority of the people eveywhere disappointed in the parties.
However, in many countries of Latin-America including Venezuela new attempts, bloodless revolutions are taking place by putting human being instead of capital into the limelight. Progressive forces in Latin America use the means of active non-violence, accept the diversity of individuals and cultures and believe in building communities horizontally. They want to build a society in which contrary to the market mechanisms renewable resources, participatory democracy and use value are given high priority and human rights fully prevail.
The means of building the new society:
. The public approppriation of natural resources by renationalization or buying the majority of shares;
. Filling the basic needs of the population by reinforcing the common property of the means of production (by supporting co-operatives);
. Improving the quality of life (healthy foods, well-being, environment protection);
. High quality public services, social welfare for all;
. Acceptance of multiculturality, diversity and plurality;
. Introduction of participatory democracy in all sectors and at all levels.
In order to achive this above goals a new left is emerging in Latin America dominated by youth, women, indigenous communities, oppressed groups organizing themselves in a horizontal way and delegitimizing the presently existing world system.
