[fse-esf] Referendum in Hungary on Sunday

Referendum n Hungary on Sunday  Strictly related with the referendum against the liberalisation of the the solidarity based Health Insurance System to be held presumibly in autumn, in Hungary an immediate referendum is taking place on Sunday 9th of March against the healthcare service fees and the tuition fees introduced by the government last year as part of the cuts and the demolition of the welfare. The Sunday referendum has been promoted by the political opposition to the socialist-free democrats ruling coalition with the support of the most important civic organisations, including the Chamber of Doctors and the Trade Union of Health Employees (EDDSZ). The Hungarian Social Forum-Social Roundtable has since the beginning sustained the social initiative by arguing that everybody has the right to healthcare and education, and nobody should be excluded from because not having money to pay the fees. As consequence of the introduction of the fees millions of Hungarians living below the social minimum have increasing difficulties of access to the necessary health-care. Due to material reasons, also a drastic fall of interest for high-school studies is observed. Voters on Sunday have to answer by Yes or No to the abrogation of the fees. The HSF-SR has mobilized to vote by Yes.+++       es
