I was requested by Mayo to circulate this good news! here it is:


The Catalan Social Forum, a success!

The Catalan Social Forum took place during from 17 to the 27 of January,
with local activities decentralized by Catalonia and a forum during the
weekend in Barcelona. The Catalan Social Forum was part of the Global Social
Forums.

Full seminaries with people seated in the ground! Classrooms with the open
doors so that people can also listen from outside!, 5000 participants
demonstrating!!!! The first Catalan Social Forum has been a success. It was
composed by a large diversity of acts, trajectories of mobilization and
participants. The Assembly of social movements, after a process of
preparatory meetings and a emotive encounter Saturday in the evening
(attended  by 400 participants), has approved this declaration

of 30 new calls and campaigns.
A meeting for the 5 of April has been organized with the intention to give
continuity to this assembly of social movements.
