The Hungarian ruling coalition of Socialists and Free Democrats on Thursday has banned the National Conference organized by the Hungarian Social Forum-Social Roundtable against the law privatizing the Health Insurance System. The meeting was planned in the conference room of the Railway Workers Hospital in Budapest for Saturday morning, but the general director of the State Health Center has withdrawn the authorisation to use the room because the goal of the conference: a common strategy of civic organisations and trade unions in order to impeed the enter in force of the law, or in case of its entering, the achievement of its nullification by the way of a national referendum. The banning decision of the official authorities has been signed by the Genaral of Brigades Andor Grósz, the vice director of the State Health Center. HSF-SR has changed the site of the national conference and has maintained its original program. The banning decision has caused a wide reaction of the public opinion against the limitation by the hungarian government of the right for the freedom of opinion.
