Dear friends,
We’ll be in Berlin, Carole Faure and I, to present the database we
created from the collection of the ESF 2003 reports.
We created a way of browsing both simpler and more precise that enables
to search in different lists : organisations, keywords, speakers,
geographic areas... We also worked on the layouts, merged presentations
and minutes/reports of the debates, simplified and harmonised entries,
checked and corrected the names of the organisations, collected some
additionnal texts and translations.
A first result is here : http://www.fse-esf.org/spip.php?rubrique78
We did it, despite the fact that those docs are day after day more
‘archives’, for three main reasons : 1/It was a decision of the
Stockholm EPA to keep the memory of the process in the esf ‘official’
site ; 2/ A great number of these texts are always available today and
we wanted to valorise the good reporting job made by many organisations
; 3/we hope that this is going to encourage the collection process of
Malmö memory by providing a ready made database in which new reports can
easily be put online (a minima).
This work on more than 300 reports from the plenaries, seminars and
workshops is the only existing one in the SF process, as far as we know.
We wanted to demonstrate that it is worth while to go on. You are the
judges now...
Welcome on Friday morning in Berlin at the memory workshop to discuss of
it.
