Dear All,

Nobody is saying NO to the EU, we are saying yes to a democratic EU.
In Ireland we are very careful about what we say yes to and No to.
The powers that be want to foist another referendum on the rejected and failed treaty? Insane. We had to vote 3 times on Maastricht before we delivered the vote the Government and EU wanted.

The Campaign Against the EU Conctitution CAEUC is holding a funeral for the Lisbon Treaty Thursday evening to mark the death and Burial of the Lisbon Treaty. Now we can begin again.

Please be aware that the vote on the Lisbon treaty is not about rejecting the EU but about what type of EU is on offer.
The no vote was diverse and complex but the highest No vote was in working class areas and was not about abortion. Ireland is not that backward Catholic stereotype that it once was.

We say Yes to a Social EU and No to a neoliberal EU bent on privatising everything that is precious about this world.

Many Thanks,

Paula Geraghty
