Invitation to the European States General for housing rights

Dear friends,

We would like to extend an invitation to the European States general for 
housing rights, to be held at the European parliament in Brussels, on 
November 5-6, 2007.


This initiative results from various meetings and working sessions between 
housing right players, which brought together elected representatives, 
leaders of associations, unions, researchers, more specifically in Bobigny, 
near Paris, last February and who share the appeal “Together towards the 
European States general for the right to housing”.
The November States General will be the very first stage of a movement we 
would like to see as broad as possible throughout Europe, beyond the very 
borders of the European Union. We do hope this first meeting will help to 
know more about each country’s realities in terms of housing and habitat, to 
exchange on the various struggles and proposals of social, political and 
citizens movements on this issue and also to assess together how to make 
sure this housing right be acknowledged in Europe.
Being aware of your commitment on this major social issue, we would like to 
get you involved in this reflection and movement. As far as you are 
concerned, please also feel free to share this approach with people or 
groups acting in that area.
In order to contribute to a dynamic preparation of the event, we suggest 
that you join the discussion list soon. Any contribution on your side will 
be welcome and immediately circulated to all those interested.

Invitation aux Etats Géneraux Européens pour le droit au logement

Chers amis,



Nous souhaiterions vous inviter aux Etats-Généraux européens pour le droit 
au logement qui vont se tenir les 5 et 6 novembre prochains au Parlement 
européen, à Bruxelles.

Cette initiative est le résultat de plusieurs rencontres et réunions de 
travail entre acteurs du droit au logement, qui ont réuni des élus, des 
responsables d’associations, de syndicats, des chercheurs, tout 
particulièrement à Bobigny, près de Paris, en février dernier qui partagent 
l’appel « Ensemble, pour des Etats-Généraux du droit au logement ».
Les Etats-Généraux de novembre sont une toute première étape d’un mouvement 
que nous souhaitons le plus large possible dans toute l’Europe, au-delà des 
seules frontières de l’Union européenne. Nous espérons que ce premier 
rendez-vous permettra à la fois de mieux connaître les réalités de chaque 
pays en matière de logement et d’habitat, d’échanger sur les luttes et les 
propositions des différents mouvements sociaux, politiques et citoyens sur 
cette question et d’envisager ensemble comment gagner la reconnaissance du 
droit au logement dans toute l’Europe.
Connaissant votre engagement sur cette question sociale majeure, nous 
proposons de vous associer à notre réflexion et à ce mouvement. De votre 
côté, n’hésitez pas à faire partager cette démarche à des personnes ou 
associations actives dans ce domaine.
Pour contribuer à une préparation dynamique de l’événement, nous vous 
proposons de rejoindre rapidement la liste de diffusion créée à cet effet. 
Toute contribution de votre part sera la bienvenue et immédiatement diffusée 
à l’ensemble des personnes intéressées.
Vous pouvez d’ores et déjà consulter plusieurs documents utiles sur le site. 
Ils sont le résultat des premiers échanges et contacts pour l’organisation 
des Etats-Généraux.

Invitación a los Estados Generales Europeos por el derecho a la vivienda

Desearíamos invitarles a los Estado Generales europeos de la vivienda que 
van a celebrarse el 5 y 6 de noviembre próximos al Parlamento Europeo, en 
Bruselas.

Esta iniciativaes el resultado de varios encuentros y reuniones de trabajo 
entre protagonistas del derecho al alojamiento, que reunieron cargos 
electos, responsables de asociaciones, sindicatos, los investigadores, muy 
especialmente a Bobigny, cerca de París, en febrero pasado que comparten la 
llamada "Juntos para los Estados Generales de la vivienda ».
Los Estados Generales de noviembre son una primera etapa de un movimiento 
que deseamos lo más amplio posible en toda Europa, más allá de las únicas 
fronteras de la Unión Europea.
Esperamos que esta primera cita permitirá a la vez conocer mejor las 
realidades de cada país en cuanto a la vivienda y hábitat, de intercambiar a 
las luchas y propuestas de los distintos movimientos sociales, políticos y 
ciudadanos sobre esta cuestión y juntos cómo ganar el reconocimiento del 
derecho a la vivienda en toda Europa.
Conociendo su compromiso sobre esta cuestión social principal, proponemos 
asociarles a nuestra reflexión y a este movimiento. Por su parte, no dudan 
en hacer compartir este planteamiento a personas o asociaciones activas en 
este ámbito.
Para contribuir a una preparación dinámica del acontecimiento, les 
proponemos incorporarse rápidamente a la lista de difusión creada a tal 
efecto .Toda contribución de su parte sera la bienvenida e inmediatamente 
difundida al conjunto de las personas interesadas.
Ya pueden consultar en el sitio varios documentos útiles; ellos son el 
resultado de los primeros intercambios y contactos para la organización de 
los Estados Generales.

Invito agli Stati Generali Europei per il diritto alla casa

Cari amici,



Vorremmo invitarvi agli Stati-Generali europei per il diritto alla casa che 
si terranno nella sede del Parlamento europeo a Bruxelles il 5 e 6 novembre 
prossimi.

Quest’iniziativa è il risultato di diversi incontri e sessioni di lavoro tra 
gli attori del diritto alla casa che lo scorso febbraio a Bobigny, vicino a 
Parigi, hanno riunito gli eletti, i responsabili di associazioni, di 
sindacati ed i ricercatori che condividono l’appello “Insieme , per gli 
Stati-Generali del diritto alla casa”.
Gli Stati-Generali di novembre rappresentano la prima tappa di un movimento 
che ci auguriamo si diffonda il più possibile in tutta Europa, oltrepassando 
i confini della Comunità europea. Speriamo che questo primo appuntamento 
permetterà di conoscere meglio le realtà dei singoli paesi in materia di 
alloggi e di habitat, di confrontarsi in merito alle battaglie e alle 
proposte dei diversi movimenti sociali, politici e cittadini sull’argomento 
e di riflettere insieme su come procedere per ottenere il riconoscimento del 
diritto alla casa in tutta Europa.
Conoscendo il vostro impegno riguardo questo problema sociale di prioritaria 
importanza, vi proponiamo di unirvi alle nostre riflessioni e a questo 
movimento. Da parte vostra, non esitate a condividere questa iniziativa con 
altre persone o associazioni impegnate in questo settore.
Se vorrete contribuire attivamente alla preparazione dell’evento, vi 
proponiamo di unirvi senza indugio alla mailing list appositamente creata 
per l’evento. Qualsiasi vostro contributo sarà molto gradito e verrà 
immediatamente trasmesso alle persone interessate.
Potete consultare fin da ora diversi documenti utili al sito. Sono il 
prodotto dei primi confronti e dei contatti per l’organizzazione degli 
Stati-Generali:

Europäischen Forum für Recht auf Wohnen

Liebe Freunde,



Wir möchten sie recht herzlich zum Europäischen Forum für Recht auf Wohnen 
einladen, das am 5. und 6. November 2007 im Europäischen Parlament in 
Brüssel stattfinden wird.

Diese Initiative ist das Ergebnis mehrerer Begegnungen und Arbeitstreffen 
der Akteure für Recht auf Wohnen, die Abgeordnete, Verantwortliche von 
Vereinen und Gewerkschaften und Forscher zusammengeführt haben, besonders im 
Februar in Bobigny bei Paris. Alle finden sich im Aufruf “Gemeinsam für ein 
Europäisches Treffe zum Recht auf Wohnung“ wieder.
Das Forum im November ist die erste Etappe einer Bewegung die wir europaweit 
wünschen, weit über die Grenzen der Europäischen Gemeinschaft hinaus. Wir 
hoffen dass dieses erste Treffen es ermöglicht, besser die Gegebenheiten 
jedes Landes in Fragen des Wohnens und des Wohnungsbaus kennen zulernen, 
über Aktionen und Vorschläge der verschiedenen sozialen, politischen und 
Bürgerbewegungen diesbezüglich auszutauschen und gemeinsam zu überlegen, wie 
man dazu gelangen kann dass in ganz Europa das Recht auf Wohnen anerkannt 
wird.
Wir kennen ihr Engagement zu dieser wichtigen sozialen Frage und schlagen 
ihnen vor an unseren Überlegungen und an dieser Bewegung mitzuwirken. Wir 
laden sie ein auch ihrerseits andere Personen und Vereine einzubeziehen.
Um zu einer dynamischen Vorbereitung des Forums beizutragen, schlagen wir 
ihnen vor sich schnell auf der Verteilerliste, die zu diesem Zweck 
geschaffen wurde, einzuschreiben. Jeder von ihnen kommende Beitrag ist 
willkommen und wird sofort an alle interessierten Personen weitergegeben.
Sie können bereits jetzt mehrere nützliche Dokumente auf der Webseite 
einsehen.
Sie sind das Ergebnis erster Austausche und Kontakte zur Organisation des 
Forums.
