40 years after 1967 – Boycott Israel

On 7:10 of the 5th June 1967 Israel unleashes an unannounced attack against
Egypt, Jordan and Syria. Within a few hours the Israeli air force demolishes
almost the entire Egyptian airplanes before they even manage to take off.
The destruction of the Egyptian air force opens the road for the onward
march of the Israeli army. The next 6 days, until the 10th of June, Israel
will crush the Arab armies. The intervention of the Security Council of the
United Nations and the diktat of the ceasefire will find Israel having
annexed the West Bank of Jordan river and East Jerusalem from Jordan, the
Gaza Strip and the Sinai Peninsula from Egypt, and the Golan Heights from
Syria. Hundred millions Palestinians are forced to become refugees for the
second time after 1948, when in the Arab-Israeli war the 40% of the
Palestinian land was occupied.

Forty years after 1967 the only thing that has changed is that after the
Camp David agreement between Israel and Egypt (guaranteed by the USA of
course), the Israeli army has withdrawn from the Sinai Peninsula.

In the Gaza Strip, the withdrawal of the Israeli army and the settlers,
though is righteously granted to the victories of the resistance, has turned
the area in one vast concentration camp. Without having the control of the
borders and freedom of movement, in the face of constant Israeli raids, the
people of Gaza are condemned to annihilation and starvation.

Today the Palestinians still live under the barbarian Israeli occupation and
the exertion of their expulsion from the West Bank continues on
unrelentingly. The construction of the Wall of Shame and the perpetual
expansion of the Israeli settlements are fragmenting it into an archipelago
of Bantustans and drive the Palestinians into a new refugee wave. At the
same time the final annexation of East Jerusalem is attempted. The Golan
Heights are still under the Israeli occupation, but it is Syria that is
reproached as a pariah state and as a terrorist.

The depositaries of the international law are demonstrably in the
Palestinian side, plethora of resolutions call Israel to withdraw to the
1967 borders, to dismantle the settlements, to respect the right of return
for the refugees in their homeland and to demolish the illegal Wall. In the
ground, the same depositaries hobble the Palestinian people and sacrifice it
to the altar of the American-Israeli interests in the region.

The institutions of imperialism may forbear and spark injustice, but the
peoples of the world do not forget, do not surrender and do honor their
solidarity to the oppressed and occupied nations.

This May and June we urge every association, local group, union of workers,
student association, every thinking human being, to undertake and support
initiatives all over Greece that will highlight, educate and cry “Freedom to
Palestine – Boycott Israel” and will honor the steadfast resistance of the
heroic Palestinian people.

We urge every entity to adopt in its resolution the call of the Palestinian
society for Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) against Israel. We call
every person separately not to buy Israeli products –“I don’t buy 729” (the
initial barcode for the Israeli products) – and that is a small something
everyone can do.

The peoples were victoriously united in the boycott against the Apartheid
regime of South Africa. 40 years after 1967, they should do the same for
Palestine.
