To whom it may concern
We are informing you that the great majority of the participants of the conference organised by the Social Round Table on 13th May in the Railway Workers' Hospital in Budapest were either rightwing or even extreme rightist persons belonging to e.g. National Civic Forum, Professors' Batthyany Circle and two TU Confederations (MOSZ, Liga).
The organisations cooperating in frame of the Foundation for Hungarian Social Forum Movements are also opposing the privatisation of the healthcare system and insisting on preserving the single (state) health insurance system in Hungary, but -as Judith Dellheim drew the attention of the ESF lists some weeks ago - this cannot be the reason to join our forces with the rightwing and extreme right organisations and people as Endre SIMO suggested us.

A conference against the privatisation of public service of Health Assurance with concrete steps on social mobilisation and political acts has taken place in the Budapest hospital of Railway Workers on Sunday 13th May. The conference promoted by the Social Round Table of the Hungarian Social Forum, has been organized together with 40 social organisations, trade unions and political groups in unity of action for the defense of the Solidarity Assurance System inherited from the epoch of Socialism, as a big social achievment, granting equal treatment free of charge. Lecturers of the conference were academics, doctors, experts in rights and economics of Health. They have presented alternative solutions in order to avoid the liberalisation of the hungarian health market. The conference was organized in co-operation with National Civic Forum, Living Chain, Batthyany Cercle of Professors, the Chamber of Doctors, two TU Confederations (MOSZ, Liga), four Trade Unions of employees, National Organisation of Big Families, a lot of Civic Organisations of ill people, and others linked with the Church. The conference organized on a broad democratic joining of forces has not been followed nor by Attac Hungary or other far leftist organisations. They have defined as â01Erightist eventâ01D our meeting for health and refused to sit down together with people not of left fighting with the same intention than us, to hinder the privatisation of public health. Two political platforms of the ruling Hungarian Socialist Party, in opposition with the official line of PM and President of the Socialist Party, Gyurcsany have also joined our initiative.
