*The antiwar movement defeated Prodi Government 100 – 1*


The 9^th of June extraordinary demonstration far excedeed our expectation.

150.000 people in the streets, with a clear platform against Bush, the 
criminal, against global war and Prodi Government's militarism, is a 
sensational success.


This result is extraordinary, expecially when compared with the big flop 
of the other demo, organized by the left pro government wing in Piazza 
del Popolo.

The Secretaries of pro government left wing parties , without people, 
have been abandoned even by their militants, who partecipaded en masse 
to the anti government demonstration.


The ratio between numbers ( 1-100) closes once and for all any dispute 
about the supposed “two movements”.

Yesterday there was ONLY ONE ANTI WAR MOVEMENT and it follows the route 
of our last years of strong opposition against war ( whoever makes it), 
against militarism, against bases and military expenditure.


The answer of the government after the debacle was absurd: Prodi stated 
again, in an arrogant and suicidal way, that the Military USA base Dal 
Molin in Vicenza is to be built : on the contrary it is not to be built, 
now or at any other time!


At the end of the demonstration some small clashes, involving some 
dozens of people not belonging to the organization of our demo, were 
used to reduce the success of the movement and the pro government flop. 
But this is like smoke that is quickly going to be dissipated:

the extraordinary new is that yesterday the antiwar movement reaffirmed 
its own strenght and completely refused a government that, just like 
Berlusconi's, is practicing war and militarism.
