Kiev. Ukraine. On June 8, 2007 the "New Left" movement and "The World Is Not for Sale" initiative held an action of solidarity with the struggle of the global anti-capitalist movement in Rostok. More than 50 people participated. The action started at 13:20 with the march of left-radical youth towards the building of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs.
Besides flags of the organizations united in the "New Left" movement ("The Leftist Initiative" and "Basta") and an anarchist flag of Petr Raush participants of the action carried banners with such slogans as "G8 power is no authority for the world!", "No to privatization of life!", "No borders!" and "Mafia" ("Carroteating autonomist federative initiative"). During the picket of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs the protesters claimed that ignoring of information about brutality of the German police against peaceful alterglobalist activists including Ukrainians cannot be tolerated. Interviews to 7 main TV-channels and Reuters were given. Afterwards leftist activists marched to the German Embassy in Ukraine to protest against policy of the right-wing government of Angela Merkel shouting the slogan "G8 is against us, we are against G8!"
