G8 IN GERMANY - Coming back from ROSTOCK

The movement is there, regardless the provocations of the "Grosse-Koalition"

Sat 9th everybody in Rome to say "No Bush No War"

After the participation of 80.000 people in the 1st demo against the G8 Summit in Rostock, today will start the blockades and continues the protest against the leaders that will meet in the usual self-celebrative parade of the powerful men of the world.

Even yesterday, in the demo for the freedom of movement and the rights of the migrants (as in the ones against the war and for agriculture) we have seen the same provocations by the police that we had seen in the Saturday demo. In the demo of Saturday 2nd , even if the march had took place in a clearly peaceful and coloured way, the incursions of the police in the square where the final rally was taking place (with music and speeches), succeded in forcing a degeneration of the atmosphere. Only 10 people were charged for some crime in the end, after hundreds of arrested and then released people, to prove how clear is the strategy of the government to force an escalation which we hope will not take place. All of the demos of the following days - not reported by the media, including the yesterday's migrants demo - are taking place peacefully and with a big coloured participation, even regardless of the provocations. This proves that the Grosse-Koalition Government is afraid, on the internal front, for the presence, for the first time on the German scene, of a wide coalition of forces that goes from the main unions of the public sector (Verdi) to the more radical areas (Interventionist Left), including the Ig-Metal, Attac, DieLinke ecc. The launching of an opposition to the Mrs Merkel Government, even in prevision of the German Social Forum planned for October, which is a potential result of the Rostock mobilisations, must be clearly stopped before it develops that potential, with a "preventive war" strategy that we have seen in the Rostock opening demo and on the roads of the city with diffused personal controls by the police and with the exhibition of its strength at every corner. All this strategy clearly aims to fragment the German committee of the organisers of the protest.

Today are starting the planned and openly announced blockades and tonight will arrive in Rostock Mr Bush, who will certainly receive the right "non-welcome". We decided to come back to Italy to do the same in Rome on Saturday 9th, when the responsible for 600 thousand civil Iraqui people and for the permanent war in Afghanistan will be in Italy

For the SdL Intercategoriale delegation in Rostock
