Dear Judith,

A lot of local demonstrations in Hungary, Czekia and Poland have already taken place against the US planned SDI system.In Hungary protest actionsare also nowdaycontinuing against thebuilding upof the radar system in Tubes hill.I think, a coordinated european action against the foreign military bases would be more successful if not improvised, but politically funded. We should declare the necessity of a "Collective European Security System" based on the peaceful cooperation of the european peoples, and with others not europeans. We feel essential this problemin Eastern Europe.Since our Florence meeting about the Charter of Principles for another Europe, and ESF of Athens, the Hungarian Social Forum cwg continues proposing the inclusion of the collective security idea into the draft of constitutional priciples for another Europe, as anessential point for the peaceful future of Europe, based on the cooperation. Our proposal is permanently rejected by some of our Friends in Western Europe... This situation is very much difficulting to achieve concrete results in the field you are proposing.

Dear Friends,

The summer offers good possibilities thinking about decentralized activities in occasion of the Word Social Forum in January 2008. In addition – not competition – to the already proposed and partly discussed European demonstration I want to propose the following project: We should demonstrate against all US military bases in Europe and demand their closures. (In Germany it would be Rammstein.) Further, we should demonstrate in all regions where bases for the new SDI are planed. 

These activities could support the proposed demonstration and peace activities in other parts of the world. They could involve many people who could/would go to one large European demonstration. 



Please think about this proposal and let us discuss about it on the next EPA.
