Some notes on the current situation of the possibilities of hosting EPA in
March and the 5th ESF 2008 in Scandinavia

In Sweden an informal working group with participants from a number of
organisations have met to discuss the possibilities of hosting EPA (this
year, preferably in the autumn) and eventually the next ESF. The group
members are working for an initiative with very broad participation, and as
we all know that process has to take its time. Things are progressing slowly
but steadily. The ESF-process is hardly known in
 Sweden and we need to
build a strong and well-informed structure. This means that we are today not
yet in a position to extend an invitation at the meeting in Brussels to host
the next EPA, or ESF. We feel, however, that if we manage to establish
support in our countries we
 will be able to organise a well-prepared and
interesting 5th European
 Social
 Forum. So far we feel encouraged by the
response we've met and are looking forward to continued Nordic and European
cooperation.
