[fse-esf] SdL in Vicenza against the project for a new US Military base

SdL Intercategoriale (former Sincobas & SulT) Press Release We will participate to the demonstration on Feb 17th in Vicenza and we are supporting the struggle and the demand of the citizens of Vicenza, which, organised in local committees for the NO, have been mibilising to block the opening of a new US military base close to the Dal Molin Airport.
 
We have already been with the local committees on the last Dec 2nd in Vicenza to say NO to this project, which is part of the Bush war strategy (the new base should receive the famous brigade 173 of the Us Army)
 
The decision took by Prodi to allow the project is not just a self damaging political choice, it is also a real breking off with the movements for peace and with those millions of women and men, workers and unimployed who have been demonstrating against the war in the last years.
 
In the foreign policy we have always been asking to the government a real breaking of the continuity with the former government and we refuse any occupational blackmail towards the civil workers of the already existing militay base.
 
Peace can not be built with war bases!
On Feb 17th let’s go all to Vicenza
