Dear colleagues,

I would like to inform you about the participation of the European trade
union youth at the ESF in Malmö, September 2008.

German IG Metall youth has launched an appeal to organize a European
trade union youth meeting a side the ESF.

The goal is to meet with as much as possible young trade unionists
from all over Europe. There will be buses from Germany to bring not only
union reps but also rank and file membership to the ESF.

At the youth board of the ETUC the proposal from the German DGB and IG
Metall delegate was taken with a positive reaction.

IG Metall youth will additionaly host a European Tradunion Youth
Conference in the days before the ESF.

Around 250 participants are expected from all over Europe.

Translation will be provided.

The conference will take place nearby Malmö, from Monday to Wednesday,
before the start of the ESF at Thursday.

On the big ESF demonstration at Saturday we try to build an European
trade union youth block.

At the ESF we plan several joint trade union youth workshops.

Please inform your progressive colleagues in the youth section of your
unions about the conference and the plan to mobilize many rank and file
members to Malmö and to organize workshops together.
