[fse-esf] ABM - Hungary

 A common standing of intellectuals and civic activists calling the public attention to the dangers on the life of the populations in Eastern Europe of the ABM system wanted by the NATO in Poland, Czekia and Hungary has been published in Hungary on Sunday, 29 April 2007. At the opinion of the subscribers, among them philosopher Tamas Gaspar Miklos (TGM) the planned building up of the radar station in Tubes (Southern Hungary) is part of the ABM system sollicitated by the US for its own defense, transforming in military targets the local population. "We consider dangerous this system and we express our repugnance with it" - communiqueis writing. The civic group expresses his solidarity withhungarians, polish and czeksprotesting againstthe danger of a new arms race and new military bases in Europe. "Europe does not need unilateral defense system, but a collective one to defend itself" - said the text. The known personnalities sollicitate the withdrawal of the hungarian troops from the far countries, and the abstaining from all military threats and offensive attitude. The communique takes position in favour of the prevention of the conflicts, peaceful solutions, and the humanisation of the international relations.
