Dear Michael, Simo,
Michael, the dicussion the initial points, questions arose from was in a local Arts Centre in Caerdydd/Cardiff and there was some flow of alcohol (with the food you understand).
They arose after a discussion about the positions and lack of unity between 'left' and 'green '
candidates standing for the May 3rd elections to our National Assembly Wales.
Here are some of the questions that were raised in relation to the French Elections and the apparent lack of unity of the 'left', 'green' outfits in France.
In 2006,Marie George Buffet took part in a "rally of the anti-liberal left", in an attempt to reconcile the PCF, the rest of the radical left, and anti-globalization militants, by the nomination of a common candidate for the 2007 French presidential election. As Buffet was voted as candidate by most members of the rally, several other participants fell out, denouncing the Communist Party's influence, effectively crippling the "anti-liberal left" and leaving Buffet as candidate for the sole PCF. Buffet had to compete with the radical-left candidacies of Olivier Besancenot, José Bové and Arlette Laguiller. She ended up scoring 1,93% of the popular vote (707.327 votes), the lowest result ever for a presidential communist candidate in France.

I suggest people should not get drunk before they write a message on a e-list. This bears the danger that they loose their intellectual and mental balance in public.

Why people has to be called "drunk", when posing a real problem touching all of us?!
See also the debate about unity of action for health in Hungary!
