Dear All,

We reconfirm the importance of this unity of action, because Health is not an ideological question, but a question of human right to life. Health is health for all people, independently from their political affiliations. Those rejecting the social alliance for the defense of the Solidarity Security System - as Mr. Attila Vajnai, general vice president of the Hungarian Workers Party (Munkaspart 2006) and Mr. Matyas Benyik, President of Attac Hungary are doing in the name of their sacred Ideology - are forgeting, that health is not an excusiveright of the Left, and that the actually biggest problem of the Hungarian Society, the privatisation of Social Secuirity System and Public Health cannot be hindered by sectarian attitude, but only by the way of the democratic unity of action as large as possible, with all people interested in the preservation of the existing Solidarity System and rejecting the idea to be excluded froma liberalised healthcare system.

Thanks for the opportunity to reconfirm our open orientation to democratic alliances. We energically reject the sectarism! We are alo fighting for your rights to Health, Mr. Attila Vajnai and Mr. Matyas Benyik!

An important step towards a large democratic alliance for hindering the privatisation of the Social Security System in Hungary has been done on Thursday 19th April 2007 by a common appeal of a lot of very different social forces having the same goal: preserve the existing Solidarity Security System in this Central European country and impede the liberalisation of Public Health by the ruling coalition of Socialists and Free Democrats. The common standing by the title â01EWe refuse the proposal for reforming the Health Securityâ01D has been signed by a before never seen large scale of social-political forces regrouping left, centre and right, among them Trade Unions, TU Confederation MOSZ, Batthyany Cercle of Professors, the greatest Family Organisation of Hungary (NOE), Hungarian Social Democratic Party as well centre right party of Living Chain and many others. At the Press Conference held in the Hungarian Women Association inBudapest to present the document, also sociologist Prof. Ferenc Gazsó, honorary chief of the Social Political Sector of Socialist Party, in opposition with the official policy of Gyurcsanyâ019s PS, has taken part. From the other side we had the contribution of Prof. Gábor Náray-Szabó, President of Batthyany Cercle, near to the main oppositional force of right, the FIDESZ. The initiative for a large democratic alliance to saveguard the solidarity security system and to bar the healthcare privatisation has been launched in August 2006 by the Hungarian Social Forum cwg and followed by the creation of a Social Round Table to promote the necessary social dialogue between forces of very different ideology and political orientations. The unity of action has the concrete aim to overrule the new law on Health and to impede the privatisation of the Social Security Sytemthreatening many hungarians living below the social minimum to be excluded from the Healthcare system deprived by his right to health.Good press coverage.

 19th April 2007 Endre Simó
