A quick analysis of the vote in Hungary

In Hungary the overhelming majority of the people is partisan of the
Democracy – are showing the results of the administrative elections for
the renewal of local and regional authorities held on 1st October 2006.
Men and Women want to implement in Democracy and Freedom their
Rights for Job, Existence, Social Justice and Peace. Electors have turned
their back to anti-constitutional extremism and they have pronounced a
serious judgement on the policy of the Gyurcsány government bringing
grist to the mills of far right. The results of the local elections overcome
the local interests, they are a clear political message to the
government, the opposition and the European Union too. The message
of the majority of electors to the ruling coalition of socialists and free
democrats is that the anti-social mesures, the political immorality, the
anti-democratic „at any price” insistence to the power are intolerable.
The Socialist Party electors have massively voted against the direction
of PS by telling Gyurcsány, that this situation could not continue and
criticism should not be considered as hostility. Together with other
people of democratic feeling many hundred thousand of leftwing
electors have voted for the revision of the New (financial) Balance
program of social cuts, the Green Book allowing the privatisation of
Healthcare and Social Security systems and the EU wanted
Convergency Program. The message sent to the forces of opposition is,
that the way out from the crisis must be found together with the
officialism, by the way of a new program of balance caracterised by the
priciple of income proportionate taxation, imposing more charges on
wealthy straits and less charges on Workers and people in need. The
result of the vote in Hungary is reflecting serious criticisms vis a vis of
the European Union too: electors have refused that the price of the
introduction in Hungary of the european common currency, euro, as
well as the accession to the EU development funds of Hungary be the
impoverishment of the hungarian society. Electors have refused that
Hungary be considered a second class member of EU, and they have
taken position in favor of the right for equal development and
hungarian national rights to be granted like as those of the other
members of the Union. Electors have refused the method of making
policy over the head of Society, be it on national or european levels.
They have demanded to have voice in the decision taking process
related with their life and destiny. They havedone a vote of protest
against the restriction of the democratic and social rights. Vote is
showing the rightful anger of millions of citizens in my country because
the worsening of social and economical situation, increasing problems
of existence, and the immoral policy vis a vis of our society. Electors
have voted against the impoverishment, precariousness, increasing
unemployment and mass lock out. Vote is reflecting discontentment for
the drastical price increasing mesures, the declining of the purchasing
power of wages and pensions, the introducing of a new system of
charges into the healthcare and the education systems and for the
deepening of social inequalities. „We want an other Social Policy and
an other Government” – this is the message of the vote in Hungary at
my opinion.
