Free Tzaved Aslam, president of Pakistani Community in Greece
 
Tzaved Aslam, the president of Pakistani Community in Greece, was today
captured by police and he is now in prison. His capture was ordered  by
Greek ministry of Public Order after a demand by Pakistani authorities
and Europol.
Tzaved Aslam, stood up heroically against British MI6 and Greek EYP
secret services that organized the kidnapping of 28 Pakistanis in Greece
after London bombing on 7th July 2005. A huge successful campaign in
Greece against the cover up of the issue forced the government to
replace the minister of Public Order Voulgarakis but his successor
Polydoras strongly continued a racist, islamophobic attack against the
Pakistanis who recently with Stop the War Coalition showed the secret
police in Halkoutsi, Greek Secret services base, where they were
imprisoned and tortured for seven days.
The ridiculous accusation against Tzaved Aslam refers to "illegal human
trafficking".
Recently a court in Pakistan stopped a trial provoked by Pakistani
Embassy of Athens declaring "That there are political issues involved"
in the case. And also in Athens a greek court declared him innocent for
similar false accusations.
We ask for international solidarity from all peace, and civil rights and
trade union movements to demand Freedom for Tzaved Aslam. This is an
attack against the movement that resisted occupation of Iraq and
Afganistan.
A demonstration is called for Saturday 11/11 in Athens.
Please express your solidarity by sending letters and organizing pickets
outside greek embassies.
