Visibility of outcomes and proposals in ESF2006

To all organisations registered in ESF2006, to all seminar and workshops
organizers,

Organisations and movements from all over Europe and abroad have gathered
early May in ESF2006 open space in Athens to exchange discuss a great
diversity of topics and experiences, and build or strengthen networks on
campaign and alternatives.

Greek program group, following EPA decision in Vienna, has decided to
implement a scheme/device to collect proposals of alternatives or actions
issued or presented in the frame of ESF2006 activities, display them, and
collect contacts of participants interested in further networking around
them in ESF workspace site

A number of paper proposal forms have been handed to seminar organizers
during the event and some have already filled them.

Now, you are invited to input by internet the “outcomes” of your
activities in ESF2006 under the form of “proposals” in the name of any
registered organisations or explicit group of organisations willing to
promote them
The content of the proposals can be focused on networking, on alternatives
building , on campaign building .... it is expected to mention realistic
middle term goals and avoid general declaration or slogans, and can cover
any issue and theme relevant for ESF process

There are two options at your convenience at this moment

Option 1 - you go directly to http://workspace.fse-esf.org (which will
sustain the dynamics of the ESF process until the next event , the date and
place of which is still to be determined) and create a “proposal” in your
own workspace ( select your organisation or group, then select “add item” –
then select “proposal”)
If your organisation is not registered on http://workspace.fse-esf.org, you
can create it ( go to “organisation” menu and click on “register”)
you may also want to create a “group” of organisations if you are making the
proposal in the name of several organisations ( go to “group” menu and click
on “register””) )

option 2- you fill the text document joined in the present message, that is
the equivalent of the paper sheet distributed in Athens and send it to
proposals at athens.fse-esf.org
Doing so, you send your proposal to a group of volunteers who will come back
to you and your organisation, and see how to transfer this proposals on
http://workspace.fse-esf.org,

Thanks for Contributing, in your diversity, to the visibility of the
alternative building in the forum process

Steps to fill the text document Proposal form –indication sheet
To fill this intented proposal form, the proposal promoter needs as a
minimum to write something brief in item 1 2 4 5 6 7 – other items 0 3 5 8 9
are only welcomed complements –All in all this amounts from 7 lines to 20
lines of typing ... quite reasonnable

All your inputs are in bold blue for making them out from the indications
that are in black

0-ESF2006 event thematic Area where to display this proposal
Area number : the proposal promoter choose under which Athens ESF area name
their proposal will be displayed
A Chronological number will be given :

1 Proposal Title( capital)
Give a title including a verb if possible

2 -Title of ESF event activity in which the proposal was presented and/or
discussed
Normally the proposal have been presented or discussed in an activity –
which does not mean of course that all participants attending this activity
are supporting this proposal

3-Long term Goals and objectives
Make a sentence with verb if possible – may be redundant with item 1– and in
that case can be skipped

4-Short term Goals and objectives before next ESF
Make a sentence with verb if possible with some indication of modalities

5- - frame of work and action (local to global) - type of proposal
(ESFprocess networking – alternative building – public action /campaign)
Allows to have simple categories to present globally the proposals received

6-Current list of promoters
Promoters are organisation and persons signing the proposal – and thus
becoming its promoters
promoters may be interested to form a group on ESF workspace site to present
their proposal
indicate the name that this group has or would have

7 proposal Contact person
This is a personal contact for all practical purposes for networking after
the forum

8 and 9 are not a compulsory field– the planning will be described later in
the rich text area called “actors and actions” or “ information on the
proposal when drafting the proposal on the ESF workspace site

8-Work plan and actions agenda(*)who is doing what, when, how, with /towards
who, to meet the objectives ?
This is a rough planning to give a preliminary information , with some
practical steps –

9 –MORE INFORMATION ? A -Current topics being discussed –-B-- Status and
points to be highlighted – C - Key words on intended actors and actions - D-
Who else could promote the proposal?-E- Link to other proposals?- F- Who can
support and where when how? what to do concretely ? -G -Where to get
information?: mail list , specific site, meeting
This is a free complementary zone - suggesting several possible item – so
you can just indicate a letter corresponding to the item you want to give
input on and add this input
e-g “ D- any trade union is welcome “ means that “trade unions could join
the group to promote the proposal”
