[fse-esf] Proposals for speakers of big events Athens ESF

[Campaign GENOA 2001-Greece]

Dear  friends,
This is the proposal made by Stop the War Coalition, Campaign Genoa 
2001 and Political Ecology

The following 4 events were agreed at Frankfurt Preparatory Assembly 
to be Organized by Greek Organising Committee for the needs of the 
greek movement.That is to secure visibility of ESFin greek society 
in relation with the great struggles against neoliberal government, 
to open a debate on strategies and alternative solutions 
toneoliberalism,war, European Union and Climate Change, to give 
space for activists-representatives of mass 
movements,intellectuals,trade unionists,enviromentalists etc to 
engage in a dialogue for the future of the movement.

1.NEOLIBERALISM,ALTERNATIVES

PANOS GARGANAS-GENOA 2001,KOSTAS VERGOPOULOS.ACADEMIC AND

2.CLIMATE CHANGE

KOSTAS DIAKOS-POLITICAL ECOLOGY, BELLAMY FOSTER, MANNY TANNOH-GHANA 
ACTIVIST AGAINST PRIVATIZATION OF WATER, TREVOR NGUANE,APF,
ALSO SPEAKERS WERE PROPOSED BY GREEK ENVIROMENTALISTS AS TASOS 
KREMYDAS,STELIOS PSOMAS, ACTIVISTS FROM GREENLAND,BULGARIA. THE 
GROUP OF ENVIROMENTALIST MUST PRESENT A FINAL LIST OF 7-8 SPEAKERS.

3.EUROPE

FROM KESK, ELAHEL ROSTAMI POVEY ON IRAN, PALESTINIAN AGREED BETWEEN 
PLO AND PALESTINIAN AUTHORITY,YIANNIS SIFAKAKIS,STOP WAR GREECE. 
TZAVED ASLAM, PAKISTAN COMMUNITY OF GREECE

The first meeting of the greek Organising Group did not arrived to a 
consensus.  The final meeting of the Greek Programm Group will take 
place next Tuesday 28/3.

PS. Before any conclusion wecannot finalize our proposals for 
mergers of seminars.An ESF without big events is an innovation and 
thismeans that we will reconsider our approach for the process of 
seminars.
