[fse-esf] Anti Bush demo in Budapest

     A demonstration for Peace, against the visit in Hungary of George 
W. Bush took place on Thursday, june 22 in Szabadság (Freedom) 
Square of Budapest. Bush go Home!, Get out from Iraq!, This War is a 
crime!, Today Iraq tomorrow Iran? Peace Jobs Secure Existence! 
Number One Terrorist! and others were the slogans of about one 
thousand peaceful demonstrators of more than twenty civic and 
political organisations from Greens to Humanists, Unemployed Youngs 
to Communists, including Attac and the Hungarian Social Forum cwg. 
The speakers representing the different civic currents and sensibilities 
have unanimously condemned the war policy, tortures, violation of 
Human Rights and the restrictions of democratic rights of freedom and 
social rights of Bush administration, as well the spoiling of the 
environment. The HSF cwg representative has contemporarily rejected 
both War and Terrorism. "None of them is our World" - he has told. Our 
alternative World has as etical basis  the respect of Life, Peace, Self-
Determination and Freedom. We have called the attention of the public 
opinion to the fact, that Bush is urging Hungary to send more soldiers 
to Afghanistan, he is pushing european countries, among them 
Hungary to give place of american anti missiles defense systems in 
their territory. "Bush want to defend the american interests at the price 
of our lifes in the name of the War on Terrorism" - was told. We have 
invited the hungarian government to refuse the new militarisation 
steps because in oppositon with the hungarian Constitution, the 
general willing for Peace of our people and with the necessity of the 
elimination of Poverty, unemployment, precarity. We have demanded 
the withdrawal of the troops of occupation from Iraq and Afghanistan, 
to assure the self-determination of Palestinian people, the refusal of a 
new war on Iran. We have told, that the resistance againts the wars 
have exposed the US strategy as a failure and we have remembered 
the last developments: the decision of the italian government to 
withdrawal the italian troops from Iraq and the demand of EU to close 
the Gunatanamo camp of prisoners. It was the first time since the very 
beginning of the social forum process in Hungary, that such a different 
scale of social organisations and political tendecies have organised a 
common action choosing the visit in Hungary of the symbol of the War 
policy in the World.
