Dear all,

 In response to the three deaths in Guantanamo, Cageprisoners are calling
for an international day of protest on Saturday July 15th.
Unfortunately we have already confirmed this date with activists in the UK
so the date cannot be changed.

The UK protest will be organised largely by the
National Guantanamo Coalition (which consists of Cageprisoners,
Reprieve, Birmingham Guantanamo Campaign, Save Omar Deghayes Campaign,
Manchester Guantanamo Campaign and the London Guantanamo campaign).

We are writing in the hope that you, with the support of
other local activists - some of whom will be recipients of this email -
will be able to organise a local demonstration or protest on this day, as
part of the international protest.

Our aim is to have protests in the following countries, if not more:

England
Scotland
US (East Coast and West Coast)
Canada
Australia
Kuwait
Bahrain
Yemen
France
Pakistan
Sweden
Bosnia
possibly Germany
possibly Sudan
possibly Mauritania
possibly Qatar

If you would be interesting in organising a local protest
or working with other activists in the aforementioned countries can you
please reply to this email. We need to work fast as there is little more
than three weeks left before the demonstration for planning
and publicity.

Our demands (as part of the demonstration) include:
- Full independent inquiry into the deaths in Guantanamo
- Repatriation of all Guantanamo detainees
- Closure of Guantanamo
Each country can add specific demands and use the protest to
raise the profile of their nationals held in Guantanamo (e.g. Hicks, Omar
Khadr, Bahranis etc)

We will aim to deliver petitions with these demands to the US embassies in
each country where protests are held.

All events will be publicised on Cageprisoners and the
National Guantanamo Coalition website (Guantanamo.org.uk).
