Accomodation)

Dear participants in the Vienna EPA,
You find some additional information about
- Finances
- Check-In
- Accomodation
in this mail.
1) Finances
Please find enclosed the application form for support from the Solidarity
Fund. It would help us if you could complete this form and give it to us
when you register at the EPA. If we recieve all the applications on
Thursday and Friday, then we hope to be able to confirm reimbursements on
Saturday, and tell you if we can reimburse you, and how much.
In any case, we can only reimburse expenses for which we recieve the
original invoice/reciept/ticket. For air travel we will need travel agent
invoice AND ticket AND all boarding passes. In some cases, if you give us
photocopies (or give us your ticket in Vienna so that we can make a
photocopy), we might be able to give you a deposit in Vienna, and send you
the rest of the reimbursement when you send us the originals.... We will
be reimbursing most people by bank transfer, so please give us your full
bank details. To reduce bank costs, please give your account number in the
IBAN format if possible.
There have been many applications to the Solidarity Fund. The good news is
that this shows that the European Social Forum network is growing in the
eastern and south-eastern parts of Europe. The bad news is that we will
not have enough money in the Solidarity Fund to reimburse everyone. We are
working hard to maximise the income of the fund, but we expect that some
people may recieve nothing, and some may only recieve part of what they
ask for. We ask for your understanding, and look forward to seeing you in
Vienna!
2) Check-In
We will start the registration process on Jan. 5th in the afternoon at
Kongresshaus, Margaretengürtel 138-140, Vienna. Go to
http://esf.socialforum.at where you find a description of the way from the
airport and the railway station to the Kongresshaus.
On Jan. 6th, the registration starts at 8:30am. Please be on time, as the
first network meetings start at 9:30am.
3) Sleeping places
We organized free accomodation in private flats for the time from Jan. 5th
to Jan. 9th. We cannot support free sleeping places for the time after
Jan. 9th! Please go to the Check-In at Kongresshaus if you need free
accomodation, you will get the contact addresses there. Please note, that
the number of private flats is limited and reserved for people who cannot
afford youth hostels!
